Lake Borgne black drum are underrated. These brutes pull hard and can exceed 50 pounds. Look for them around the marsh edges in spring. Use heavy tackle—50-lb test minimum. Crab and shrimp are the best baits. Be patient. Black drum are sluggish but incredibly strong.
