Nearshore Rig Cobia Opportunity

Cobia migration season is one of the most anticipated times of year for Gulf anglers. These hard-fighting fish travel in pairs or small groups, often following rays and other large fish. When you spot a cobia at the surface, approach slowly and make a long cast with a bucktail jig or live bait. The key is to get the fish to see your lure before it sees the boat. Cobia provide an incredible fight—smooth, powerful runs with head-shaking bursts. They are also excellent table fare, with firm white meat that grills beautifully.
