Pompano Surf Trough Tactics

Pensacola Beach surf holds pompano in spring and fall. These golden slabs run from 1-3 pounds and fight incredibly hard for their size. Fish the troughs with a double-dropper rig. Use pieces of shrimp or clam for bait. A 3000 series spinning reel with 10 lb test is perfect. We caught a limit of pompano in a morning.
